While working at a coffee shop I noticed a poster for an upcoming event in Des Moines. But the more I looked at the poster, the more I got confused.

I felt like the contents in the red and yellow were confusing and very hard to read. I wanted to recreate this poster so it was easier for someone to see it and get all the information they need.

I also got confused when I tried to find more information about this event. So I wanted one place with information, that was helpful.

I started off by noting what was needed for the poster. The dates, location, and what the event was all about.

I also wanted to keep some of the same elements as the original – a hand-drawn capitol.
